Ultra Secure Multimode A/B/C/D Switch

Simple to use—to route signals, just turn a knob on the front panel.

  • The micro-mirrors on these full-duplex fibre switches optically transmit data port to port.
  • No optical-to-electrical conversion between fibre connections, internal mirrors ptically move data between ports.
  • For reliable switching in mission-critical environments, the micro-mirrors are bonded to precise positioning servos.
  • Connect a single workstation to up to 4 networks or remote devices.
  • Operate transparently to signal rates, formats, and wavelengths, and don’t require an upgrade when your data protocols change or speeds increase.
  • Garanzia: 1 anno di garanzia Double Diamond™ (standard)

There’s a reason why these types of manual switches continue to be the switches of choice for networking professionals everywhere: The tried-and-true optical switches perform as promised year after year.

The Ultra Secure Multimode ABCD Switches are reliable because they use micro-mirrors instead of electronics to route data signals from one fibre optic port to the next. And unlike conventional electronic switches, there are no complex and vulnerable electronic circuits to monitor and protect from intrusion, component failure, or interference.

The switches are available as a latching and non-latching model. The latching switch latches mirror movement mechanically into a selected position and holds it there without the need for continuous electrical power. The non-latching version falls back to Common-to-A position if power is lost.

Latching Technology
The Latching Fibre Optic Switches are a full-duplex, optical switch. The A/B switch for example can be used to connect one workstation to two different networks (one at a time) or to other remote devices. A front panel rotary style knob allows the user to select which of two ports (A or B) is connected to the COMMON © port on the switch. The switch operates using a unique all-optical micro-mirror movement. When you turn the rotary knob on the front of the switch to select a network, the internal micro-mirror movement redirects the optical beam from one network port to another network port by rotating a miniature mirror. This technique eliminates the need to convert optical signals to electronic signals to for switching and it is therefore transparent to data rates and protocols.

Applications
This switch is perfectly suited for applications where a selected connection must be maintained in the event of a power failure. You should use the non-latching fibre optic switch for applications requiring a switch that falls back to pre-determined connection during the loss of AC power. These switches use power only for switching the selected connection. No power is required to pass data through the switches. They are ideal for government, healthcare, financial, or other applications where a private, data-sensitive network connects to a publicly accessible network.
